Our premium beige pants are artisanally made using traditional Thai techniques. They are chemical-free and instead derive their coloring from natural plants and stones native to Northern Thailand.
The material used is 100% organic cotton which is at once soft and durable. This handcrafted product has received a 4-star certification from the Thai government under the OTOP scheme which aims to promote rural traditions, entrepreneurship and certify authenticity.
Like all Thai pants, they have no buttons or zippers and are instead adjusted by folding and tying the waist.
Handmade using a traditional handloom these wrap pants are made in small batches using local techniques. Rocks and stones found at the foot of the mountains of Jom Thong are what provides the mineral coloring with which the cotton is dyed. The beige color is then fixed using banana stems via a technique long known to the village but that remains a local secret.
The whole process can take a number of days to finish.
We use plant-based dyes in the production of these fisherman pants and abide by the principles of slow fashion and fair-trade. All materials are sourced locally and we aim to reward rural communities by raising incomes while preserving traditions.
